Queer History Month: Queer History in the Making: A Show and Tell Community Event

The Lesbian and Gay Archives of New Zealand Te Pūranga Takatāpui o Aotearoa (LAGANZ) is delighted to announce a new event for the Wellington Queer calendar.

A unique opportunity for Wellington's Queer, LGBTIFFTQ and Rainbow community organisations to:

  • share information about their organisation to the community and general public,
  • recognise and celebrate the contribution, importance and diversity of Queer History to our community and New Zealand.

Show and Tell will be held at the National Library of New Zealand, corner of Molesworth and Aitken Streets, Wellington from 11am to 3pm, on Saturday, 12 September 2015.

The event programme will feature:

  • Queer History panel discussion
  • programmed 'open mic' for groups to present their achievements, goals and activities
  • community group display tables
  • show and tell presentations from the LAGANZ collections
  • performances

Tables will be available for community groups to have their information on display.

Show and Tell will increase awareness within the community about the importance of their community groups' history, and recognise the diversity and contribution of groups to Wellington's rainbow scene. LAGANZ also welcomes potential partners and sponsors for this inaugural event.
